Hosts for Humanity came to our Interaction Design class seeking insights for improving the booking experience for both guests and hosts. Their current process involved Google Docs and email, and they were eager to automate the booking process.
With this group, my major contributions were creating the digital prototype in Axure, co-writing the final research paper, presenting the pitch and final ideal to the client, and coming up with frameworks for journey mapping.
Our group's research focused on mobile design and competitor analysis research, paper prototyping, and then digital prototyping. We tested our designs with six users and used feedback to make adjustments to the visual and interaction design.
Research included reading peer-reviewed articles, previous iterations of the product, and content from established researchers and designers.
Trust became a central focus in the research, especially during times of extreme stress.
Even though I worked with a team, I took the lead at doing the initial sketches of the product.
